Win a home in outer space
We are awarding 10 FREE memberships to the cooperative which entitles your to a home aboard the Habitat*(1) as well as all other benefits of the membership. There will be one winner from each of 7 regions and the 3 remaining from any region. The regions are as follows: 1) North America 2) South America 3) Europe 4) Asia North 5) Asia south (China and south eastern) 6) Africa 7) Indo-Australia (India and south pacific islands and Australia) How to win There are 4 ways to win: 1) Write an essay (kinda like being in school) 2) Submit art 3) Promote our project 4) Impress us! Essay (7 winners) We are accepting essays as entries to the contest. All essays should be about 500 words (don't go too much over that as it will affect your chance of winning). The essay content must be your primary reason for living in outer space and also why man kind should live in space. The best essay from each region will win. Your essay should be submitted in English and can include a copy in your native language. The top 5 from each region will be posted in both English and native language. Art (1 winner) This is a fun one and quite diverse. You can use almost any artistic medium such as drawing, painting, CAD, photo etc. though it will need to be converted to a digital format. Your art work should depict some aspect of our project such as a view of the inside or outside of the habitat. This is challenging because we are going to limit the info we give you in order to get a real "artist impression". Feel free to ask us questions, we will post replies on the right half of this page. Promote (1 winner) This challenge is to do something that promotes our project and attracts a great deal of attention. Not too many rules on this one as we are looking for creativity and results. Note that a membership can be awarded to any legal entity*(2) not just a human so a business or organization could do this. Impress us! (1 winner) This is kinda like the Promote contest but is more general. It is not judged solely on promotional value General rules: 1) Your submission should include; your name, age group( under18, 18-25 or 26+), email contact info and country. 2) All submissions become the property of the cooperative and we are free to use it in any way we see fit without compensation to the creator other than acknowledgement of your name. 3) Any submission may be withdrawn at anytime up to 10 days prior to judging date. 4) Winning entries will be selected after membership reaches 1000 members and judged by the membership. 5) All "promote" entries should register and get a reference number so we can better track your success. Attention All Schools: Space Contest Is your school science department interested in getting involved in the space race? We are going to take 3 projects to space for the successful education facilities that submits a project to us. We are allocating 50kg of lift capacity as cargo. The outside of the habitat description: Look at the borrowed art in our banner to set the stage! - 4 rings on a common axle - each ring is a hexagonal shaped, not round - there are 'spokes' connecting the rings to the axle - each section of the ring is a tube 500m dia and 2500m long - there is a joining 'wedge' between each tube The inside of the habitat description: - looking at a tube 'end on' the floors within cut across the circle - There are many floors divided into 3 sections - cut the circle in half to distinguish between the biosphere floors and the rest of the floors - there are a total of 5 biosphere floors, the center line bisecting the circle and 4 above it at 50m intervals - the bottom 150m is water storage - above the water storage are the industrial/agricultural floors - the floors just below the center are the residences |
